Changwon Special City Holds Appointment Ceremony for Cultural Content Industry Promotion Committee

On the 19th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a meeting of the Changwon City Cultural Content Industry Promotion Committee (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Committee’) in the conference room on the 2nd floor of the City Hall Annex 2 to reflect various opinions on the development of Changwon City's cultural content industry.

The Committee is chaired by Jo Myung-rae, the 2nd Vice Mayor, and consists of 15 members including experts active in the fields of webtoons, games, video/media, intellectual property (IP), related department professors, and researchers. Over the next two years, the Committee will provide policy review and advice for the development of Changwon City's cultural content industry.


The meeting began with the appointment of committee members and included discussions on Changwon City's cultural content industry promotion projects and the interim report on the research project for the ‘Establishment of the Mid- to Long-Term Basic Plan for Changwon City's Digital Cultural Content Industry.’


During the interim report session, explanations were given on the vision and direction setting for Changwon City's digital content industry, including four promotion strategies: ▲ discovering and supporting immersive/experiential content industry opportunities ▲ expanding growth engines and revitalization through the production of content technology personnel ▲ laying the groundwork as a leading city in the immersive/experiential content industry ▲ spreading creative experiential play culture and enhancing urban vitality, along with 10 core tasks and plans. Various opinions were presented along with questions and answers from the committee members.


Jo Myung-rae, the 2nd Vice Mayor (Chairman), said, “I hope you will become a strong supporter for the promotion of Changwon City's cultural content industry. Through this interim report session, we will do our best to derive the direction and core tasks that Changwon should pursue in the digital cultural content field and to lay the foundation for building Changwon City's digital cultural content ecosystem.”
