GL PharmTech, a pharmaceutical company specializing in drug development, announced on the 19th that Kim Yong-il and Jin Seong-pil, internal directors, have been newly appointed as co-CEOs. By appointing research and manufacturing experts from Hanmi Pharmaceutical as CEOs, the company plans to establish a growth foundation based on integrated synergy.
New CEO Kim Yong-il led Hanmi Pharmaceutical’s Formulation Research Center for over 20 years, researching, developing, and commercializing Korea’s leading improved new drugs. CEO Kim will concurrently serve as CEO and Chief Technology Officer (CTO), overseeing GL PharmTech’s research and development.
New CEO Jin Seong-pil is an expert in domestic solid oral dosage form Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). He was responsible for quality and production at Hanmi Pharmaceutical and served as a plant manager at Daewoong Pharmaceutical. Going forward, CEO Jin will be in charge of overall management at GL PharmTech and will also concurrently serve as CEO of GL Pharma, a subsidiary of GL PharmTech equipped with dedicated production facilities for manufacturing and hormone products.
CEO Kim said, “I am pleased to join GL PharmTech, which has excellent research personnel and infrastructure,” adding, “Based on my know-how in drug formulation research and diverse experience, I will strive to make GL PharmTech the top improved new drug development company in Korea.” CEO Jin also stated, “We will build an efficient system and secure competitiveness through accumulated capabilities in quality and production.”
Woo Jong-su, CEO of W Science, a domestic formulation research company that recently became the largest shareholder of GL PharmTech, said, “Through mid- to long-term collaboration among W Science, GL PharmTech, and GL Pharma, we will become Korea’s leading improved new drug pioneer company equipped with capabilities in development, manufacturing, and sales.”
