The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission announced on the same day that it received a report from Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power that Wolseong Unit 3 automatically shut down at around 12:09 PM on the 19th.
Wolseong Unit 3 was reported to have automatically shut down due to a circuit breaker failure caused by a fire in the power system.
Currently, Wolseong Unit 3 is maintaining a stable condition, and it has been confirmed that there are no abnormal radiation monitor alarms or external leaks.
The NSSC Wolseong Nuclear Power Plant Regional Office is inspecting the site safety immediately after the incident (12:22 PM), and the NSSC has dispatched experts from the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS) for a detailed investigation of the incident.
