Board of Audit and Inspection "Election Season Public Official Discipline Inspection... Focus on Violations of Political Neutrality Obligation"

"32 감사 Personnel Deployed"

On the 19th, the Board of Audit and Inspection announced plans to deploy a total of 32 audit personnel from the Special Investigation Division to begin inspections of public officials' discipline during the election period before and after the 22nd National Assembly elections.

The inspection period will last for 20 days, from the 20th to April 17th, targeting central administrative agencies and local governments (including educational autonomous bodies). If necessary, inspections will also be conducted concurrently on affiliated and subordinate institutions, public enterprises, and public organizations.

The Board of Audit and Inspection stated, "During audits, we will focus on violations of public officials' political neutrality obligations, such as supporting or opposing specific candidates," adding, "We also plan to inspect passive administration such as unjust rejection or delayed processing of civil complaints, as well as disciplinary issues like unauthorized absence from the workplace."

Regarding this inspection, the Board of Audit and Inspection intends to receive reports on public officials' involvement in election-related activities and verify and take appropriate actions.
