Gwangju Buk-gu Implements 'Slate Disposal Support Project'

On the 19th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will implement the 'Slate Disposal Support Project' starting this month.

This project was promoted to reduce the economic burden on residents by supporting the dismantling and removal costs of old slate and to create a healthy building environment.

A total budget of 296 million KRW will be invested, supporting a total of 82 buildings including ▲78 residential slate removals ▲3 non-residential (warehouses, livestock barns) slate removals ▲1 residential roof improvement after slate removal.

The support amount per building is based on general households: ▲3.52 million KRW for residential removal costs ▲removal costs for non-residential buildings under 200㎡ ▲3 million KRW for roof improvement costs. In particular, households including vulnerable groups such as basic livelihood security recipients and lower-income classes are selected as priority support households and receive full support. Roof improvement costs can be subsidized up to a maximum of 10 million KRW.

Households wishing to apply can submit the application form and required documents by visiting or mailing them to the Cleaning Administration Division of Buk-gu Office or the local administrative welfare center by the 29th. For more details, refer to the project announcement posted on the Buk-gu Office website's communication plaza.
