Osan-si Launches Full-Scale Sewer Pipeline Maintenance Project

This project began design work in 2019 but was delayed due to budget shortages. However, the city explained that recent negotiations with the National Assembly and the Ministry of Environment secured national funding, making it possible to proceed with the project.

The city plans to invest a total project cost of 31.7 billion KRW, including 22.1 billion KRW in national subsidies, and has recently completed administrative procedures such as design and review.

Starting this month, the city will officially commence the project and plans to construct 16.01 km of new sewage pipelines and renovate drainage facilities for 1,312 households by 2026. In the first half of this year, the project will target Eungye-dong, Wondong, and Galkot-dong, and in the second half, it will be implemented in Osan-dong and Cheonghak-dong.

A city official stated, "Once the project is completed, the sewage odor problem that caused inconvenience to citizens will be resolved, and the water quality of Osancheon, an ecological stream, will also improve. We plan to minimize residents' inconvenience during the construction period and complete the project early."
