The Most Expensive Apartment for 4 Years, 'The Penthouse Cheongdam' at 16.4 Billion KRW

'The Penthouse Cheongdam' in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, has been named the apartment with the highest publicly announced price nationwide for four consecutive years.

According to the 2024 publicly announced prices for multi-family housing released by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 19th, the publicly announced price of The Penthouse Cheongdam with an exclusive area of 407.71㎡ was 16.4 billion KRW, the highest in the country. This is about a 1% (160 million KRW) increase from last year's publicly announced price.

Built on the site of Hotel Elui in Cheongdam-dong, The Penthouse Cheongdam consists of one building with 29 households, all of which have duplex structures. It was completed in 2020. It is reported that celebrities Jang Dong-gun and Ko So-young, golf queen Park In-bee, and MegaStudy's top math instructor Hyun Woo-jin reside there.

The second place was taken by Eterno Cheongdam, which began occupancy earlier this year in Cheongdam-dong. Its publicly announced price for an exclusive area of 464.11㎡ was 12.86 billion KRW. Boasting the highest pre-sale price in Korea, it was designed by Rafael Moneo, a Spanish architect and Pritzker Prize winner. Like The Penthouse Cheongdam, it consists of one building with 29 households. Actor Song Joong-ki and singer IU are known to have purchased units for over 10 billion KRW.

Nine One Hannam in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, which was second last year, dropped to third place. The publicly announced price for an exclusive area of 244.72㎡ was 10.67 billion KRW, up 966 million KRW from last year. Fourth place went to Hannam The Hill in Hannam-dong with an exclusive area of 244.75㎡, whose publicly announced price was 9.892 billion KRW, an increase of 995 million KRW from last year.

Acro Seoul Forest in Seongsu-dong 1-ga, Seongdong-gu, with an exclusive area of 273.93㎡, ranked fifth with a publicly announced price of 9.087 billion KRW, about 900 million KRW higher than last year's 8.193 billion KRW. Sixth place went to Park Hannam in Hannam-dong with an exclusive area of 268.95㎡ and a publicly announced price of 8.946 billion KRW.

Additionally, Galleria Foret in Seongsu-dong 1-ga with an exclusive area of 271.83㎡ ranked seventh with a publicly announced price of 7.769 billion KRW; Traumhaus 5 in Seocho-dong, Seocho-gu, the only townhouse among the top 10, with an exclusive area of 273.64㎡ ranked eighth at 7.711 billion KRW; Acro River Park in Banpo-dong with an exclusive area of 234.8㎡ ranked ninth at 7.498 billion KRW; and I-Park in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu with an exclusive area of 269.41㎡ ranked tenth at 7.151 billion KRW.

This year, all of the top 10 apartments are located in Seoul. Last year, LCT in Jung-dong, Haeundae-gu, Busan was the only non-Seoul property to make the top 10, but it was pushed out this year.
