Prosecutors Seek Arrest Warrant for Man in His 40s Accused of Killing Woman in Eunpyeong-gu Officetel

"Concerns of Evidence Destruction and Flight"

A man in his 40s, Kim Mo, suspected of killing a woman in an officetel in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, was arrested on the 18th.


Lee Soon-hyung, the chief judge in charge of warrants at the Seoul Western District Court, held a pre-arrest suspect hearing (warrant review) for Kim on the same day and issued the warrant, stating, "There is a risk of evidence destruction and flight."

According to the police, Kim is suspected of killing a woman in her 20s, A, at an officetel in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. It was investigated that he had known A for several months through internet broadcasting.


On the night of the 14th, based on a report from the victim's family, the police confirmed that A was deceased and tracked down the prime suspect, Kim. On the night of the following day, the 15th, he was urgently arrested at a comic book cafe in Guro-gu.


Kim is reported to have admitted to causing the victim's death during the police investigation. The police plan to investigate the circumstances of the case based on the verbal opinion from the National Forensic Service that A appears to have died from suffocation.
