Geochang Changpopyeon Conducts Second Job Training on Garden Management for Employees

Expecting Improvement in Staff Expertise for Personnel Management

Geochang County in Gyeongnam announced on the 18th that it conducted the second phase of specialized training in the garden field to enhance the expertise of Geochang Changpowon staff in operating and managing local gardens.


This training was a follow-up to the first phase of specialized training held on February 20th. Lecturer Jang Eun-jin, an industry-academic focused professor at Gyeongnam Provincial Geochang University and an instructor in the Smart Returning to Farming and Rural Areas Department, was invited to deliver lectures on garden plant management methods and case studies of national gardens.

The lecture covered theories and major cases to help overall understanding of gardens and landscapes, horticultural plants that make up gardens, maintenance methods for ecological gardens, and case studies on the management of national gardens such as Suncheon Bay and Taehwagang.


The staff who attended the lecture responded positively, saying, "The training content can be directly applied to garden management, so it will greatly help improve our job skills."


Geochang Changpowon is focusing all its capabilities not only on completing specialized training for staff in the garden field but also on thoroughly preparing for the "evaluation of the quality, operation, and management of local gardens" to be registered as a national garden by 2027.


County Governor Goo In-mo also said, "I expect the Geochang Changpowon staff to demonstrate professional capabilities in garden management through this training."


Meanwhile, to ensure that Geochang Changpowon is suitable for the status of a national garden, the county is promoting projects such as the Hwanggang (Namha District) river environment maintenance project, nightscape lighting improvement project, wellness tourism hub center remodeling project, Geochang Changpowon ecological tourism and cultural complex project, and the organic agricultural industry complex service support complex project.
