Cheonan City Changes Design of Volume-Based Waste Bags... Sales Start from April

Reduced Text and Pictogram Indication for Non-Discharge Items

Cheonan City Changes Design of Volume-Based Waste Bags... Sales Start from April

Cheonan City in Chungnam announced on the 18th that it will start selling redesigned volume-based waste bags from next month.

The newly redesigned volume-based waste bags have significantly reduced the number of characters and improved readability by clearly indicating non-disposable items with pictograms that anyone can easily understand.

The general volume-based waste bags display prohibited disposal items such as plastics, cans, food waste, batteries, ceramics, and recyclables, while the food waste-only bags indicate items that must be separated, including nuts, bones, shells, tea bags, feathers, and eggshells.

Additionally, to facilitate disposal for foreign residents, the volume-based waste bags include three languages: English, Chinese, and Vietnamese.

Furthermore, to promote proper household waste disposal, a QR code is printed on the volume-based waste bags, allowing access to Cheonan City's website for household waste disposal guidelines.

The existing volume-based waste bags can be sold and used until stocks are depleted, and the redesigned bags will be sold once the existing stock is exhausted, depending on the sales locations. The price of the volume-based waste bags remains unchanged.

A Cheonan City official stated, “The newly introduced volume-based waste bags include pictograms, making it easier for everyone to separate their waste properly,” and added, “We hope this opportunity helps establish a proper waste separation culture and assists people in sorting their waste correctly.”
