Listening to the Elderly's Suggestions and Difficulties
On the 18th, Park Dong-sik, Mayor of Sacheon City, Gyeongnam, visited the free senior meal service at Samcheonpo Senior Welfare Center to encourage volunteers and participate in meal service activities.
On this day, Mayor Park personally took part in the meal service, carefully inquiring whether the elderly were facing any difficulties in their daily lives, listening to their suggestions and concerns, and had a meaningful time of communication.
He also introduced senior welfare policies to the volunteers of the Korean Red Cross Sacheon District Council and requested them to actively promote so that all elderly can fully benefit from the services. Furthermore, he encouraged the volunteers and expressed his gratitude for their hard work.
In particular, Mayor Park, who had also participated in free meal service activities here last February, promised to actively engage in various volunteer activities that directly observe the frontline of social welfare.
Mayor Park said, “I thank the volunteers who quietly work hard for the elderly with a special spirit of service,” and added, “I will do my best to prepare senior welfare policies with more attentive care so that the elderly can live comfortably and energetically.”
Meanwhile, the Korean Red Cross Sacheon District Council operates the free senior meal service five days a week from Monday to Friday, providing lunch to about 100 elderly people.
