‘Into Daily Life with Forests’ … Uljin-gun Holds ‘Tree Sharing’ Event for ‘Own a Tree’ Campaign

Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, will hold a tree distribution event on the 22nd to create an atmosphere and encourage participation in owning, planting, and caring for trees.

‘Into Daily Life with Forests’ … Uljin-gun Holds ‘Tree Sharing’ Event for ‘Own a Tree’ Campaign Uljin County, hosting the "My Tree Ownership" campaign and the "Tree Sharing" event.

This event is held in celebration of the 79th Arbor Day and is planned to distribute trees at Pyeonghae-eup Sports Park at 10 a.m. (first 1,000 people) and Yeonho Park in Uljin-eup at 2 p.m. (first 1,400 people). The event is supported by tree sponsorship from the Forestry Cooperative and volunteer assistance from the Uljin-gun Comprehensive Volunteer Center and the Pyeonghae-eup Women's Volunteer Fire Brigade.


The distributed trees include either ‘thornless Aegiceras, Emerald Green, Pine’ or ‘King Plum Tree, White Pink Salix, Pine,’ and participants can choose one of the two options.


Admission tickets will be distributed according to the selected tree type, and citizens who receive the tickets can sequentially collect their trees.


County Governor Son Byung-bok said, “Through this tree distribution event, we hope to build a consensus among citizens on planting and caring for trees and to provide an opportunity to raise interest in the value of forests and trees.”
