KOSPI Rises on Institutional Net Buying... "Rechallenge of the 2700 Level"

The KOSPI is slightly rising due to net buying by institutions.


As of 10:22 AM on the 18th, the KOSPI is at 2,679.56, up 12.72 points (0.48%) compared to the previous trading day.


By investor type, individuals and foreigners are net selling 20.1 billion KRW and 128.2 billion KRW respectively. On the other hand, institutions are net buying 134.4 billion KRW.


By sector, pharmaceuticals are up 2.58%, while transportation equipment, machinery, and manufacturing are rising more than 1%. Conversely, insurance is down 2.00%, and finance and electric & gas sectors are also falling more than 1%.


Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics traded at 72,800 KRW, up 500 KRW (0.69%) from the previous trading day. Samsung Biologics surged 4.72%, and Kia and Samsung SDI are up more than 2%. Additionally, LG Energy Solution, Hyundai Motor, and LG Chem are rising more than 1%. Meanwhile, KB Financial is down 4.33%, and Samsung C&T is also down 1.62%.


The KOSDAQ is at 892.16, up 11.70 points (1.33%) compared to the previous trading day.


By investor type, foreigners and institutions are net buying 73.6 billion KRW and 65.2 billion KRW respectively. Conversely, individuals are net selling 121 billion KRW.


By sector, other services are up 3.76%, and general electric & electronics and chemicals are rising more than 2%. Also, chemicals, other manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, IT components, metals, digital contents, and machinery equipment are up more than 1%. Conversely, computer services, software, non-metallic, and textiles & apparel sectors are slightly declining.


Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM traded at 264,000 KRW, up 7,500 KRW (2.92%) from the previous trading day. Alteogen surged 8.31%, and Rainbow Robotics, Soulbrain, and EO Technics are up more than 2%. Additionally, EcoPro and Rino Industrial are rising more than 1%. Meanwhile, HLB, Enchem, and JYP Ent. are down less than 1%.
