Operation Targeting 7 Schools for This Year's Cafeteria Modernization Project

Consultation on Facility Construction Design and Cafeteria Equipment Arrangement

Busan Metropolitan Office of Education Southern District Office (Superintendent Park Gwija) will conduct 'School Meal Environment Improvement Consulting' for seven schools, including Dangpyeong Elementary School, which is carrying out the 'Cafeteria Modernization Project' this year until the end of the year.

This consulting aims to resolve various difficulties schools face during project implementation to facilitate efficient progress and reduce staff workload.


The Southern District Office formed a consulting team of 10 members, including five nutrition teachers, three facility team officers, and two meal service team officers, and plans to conduct the consulting together with members of the city education office's Industrial Safety and Health Team.


They will discuss facility construction designs considering school conditions based on HACCP standards and the school cafeteria kitchen ventilation installation guide with school officials. They will also review the arrangement of meal service equipment, share best practices, and provide guidance on industrial safety and health.


A representative from Busan Guhwa School, which received consulting in February, expressed satisfaction with the consulting team's information provision and cafeteria design advice and requested ongoing consulting support.


Park Gwija, Superintendent of the Southern District Office of Education, said, "Our education support office is promoting various types of school meal environment improvement projects, such as expanding cafeterias and remodeling multipurpose auditoriums. We will continue to reduce the workload of schools implementing projects through consulting and various support and strive to ensure the hygiene and safety of school meals and prevent industrial accidents."
