Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do announced on the 18th that it was selected as an "Excellent Institution" in the 2023 Comprehensive Evaluation of Proactive Administration by Local Governments, hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
This is the first time since the proactive administration comprehensive evaluation was implemented in 2020 that Gochang-gun has been selected as an excellent institution.
In this evaluation, the county received uniformly excellent ratings across all areas, including the head of the institution's commitment to proactive administration, pre-consultation case evaluations, efforts to select outstanding proactive public officials, as well as education and publicity.
In particular, the case of stabilizing labor costs through the enactment of the first-ever ordinance in the nation regarding appropriate labor cost management for rural manpower received high praise from civilian committee members.
Last year, the county laid the foundation for establishing a culture of proactive administration by completely revising the proactive administration operation ordinance, and expanded protection systems for proactive public officials, such as the pre-consultation system and designation of proactive administration immunity officers.
Additionally, efforts were made to foster a proactive administrative culture by significantly increasing the number of outstanding proactive public officials selected and awarding the highest performance grade to the top selected candidates.
Furthermore, the proactive administration culture was revitalized throughout the county by spreading excellent cases through various promotions on the Gochang-gun website and SNS.
Gochang-gun received the Minister’s Award by being selected as an "Excellent Local Government for Proactive Administration Performance Check in the First Half of 2023," hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and "Healing Culture City Gochang" was also selected as an excellent case in the "2023 Jeollabuk-do Proactive Administration Excellent Case Competition."
County Governor Shim Deok-seop said, “We were able to achieve good results through the cooperation of all employees to create a proactive administration culture that residents can feel,” and added, “We will continue to strive for a better Gochang with administration that moves and impresses our residents.”
