The city of Suwon in Gyeonggi Province will accept resident applications for facilities to be inspected until the 21st of next month.
On the 18th, Suwon City announced that it is recruiting facilities for inspection through the 'Resident Inspection Application System' ahead of the '2024 Korea Safety Transformation Intensive Safety Inspection (National Safety Diagnosis)'.
The Korea Safety Transformation Intensive Safety Inspection, led by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, involves inspection teams composed of officials from central government agencies, local governments, public institutions, and citizens jointly inspecting safety-vulnerable facilities and facilities at risk of accidents, then sharing inspection results and risk mitigation plans.
If there are public or private small-scale densely populated living facilities such as village halls, senior citizen centers, bridges, welfare centers, landslide-prone areas, or aging buildings that you believe need inspection, you can apply by the 21st of next month.
Facilities with a designated manager, buildings under construction, or those involved in legal disputes are excluded from the inspection targets.
Suwon City will select inspection targets in consultation with the departments responsible for the facilities and notify applicants individually.
This year’s Korea Safety Transformation Intensive Safety Inspection will be conducted jointly by experts in fields such as architecture, civil engineering, electricity, gas, and fire safety from April 22 to June 21.
A Suwon City official urged, "If there are facilities you have felt were dangerous, please apply for inspection," and added, "We hope many citizens will participate in recruiting facilities for inspection."
