In Proportional Voting, Joguk Innovation Party Has Higher Support Than Democratic Party

President Yoon Suk-yeol's approval rating for his administration has fallen below 40% for the first time in four weeks. In the proportional representation party vote poll, the Joguk Innovation Party was shown to be ahead of the Democratic Party of Korea.

According to a poll released on the 18th by Realmeter (commissioned by Energy Economy and conducted from the 11th to the 15th with 2,504 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, using 97% mobile and 3% landline automated response), President Yoon's approval rating dropped by 1.6 percentage points from the previous week to 38.6%. The approval rating has declined for three consecutive weeks since reaching 41.9% in the fourth week of February. The disapproval rating rose by 2.3 percentage points in one week to 58.4%.

By region, a notable drop was seen in Daegu·Gyeongbuk, where the approval rating fell by 6.9 percentage points from 63.1% to 56.2%.

In the party support poll (commissioned by Energy Economy and conducted from the 14th to the 15th with 1,000 voters aged 18 and over nationwide, using 97% mobile and 3% landline automated response), the Democratic Party's support rate fell by 2.3 percentage points from the previous week to 40.8%, and the People Power Party's support rate dropped by 4.0 percentage points to 37.9%. The Reform Party recorded 4.2%. The gap between the Democratic Party and the People Power Party widened from 1.2 percentage points last week to 2.9 percentage points this week, but the gap remains within the margin of error.

Looking at party support by region, the Democratic Party's support in Gwangju·Jeolla fell by 13.9 percentage points from 71.1% to 57.2%. By age group, support among those in their 30s dropped by 8.2 percentage points from 45.9% to 37.7%. For the People Power Party, support in Seoul decreased by 7.6 percentage points from 38.6% to 31.0%. In Incheon·Gyeonggi, support also fell by 5.4 percentage points from 42.1% to 36.7%.

In the proportional representation party vote, 31.1% of respondents supported the People Power Party's proportional party, People Power Future. This was followed by the Joguk Innovation Party at 26.8%, the Democratic Party's satellite party, the Together Democratic Union, at 18.0%, and the Reform Party at 4.9%.
