Should I Become a Youth Entrepreneur Too?

Geumcheon-gu 'Geumcheon Youth CEO Startup Group' Recruiting Participants Interested in Startups Until March 22... Free Experience from Startup Education to Product Creation and Market Sales for Geumcheon-gu Youth

Should I Become a Youth Entrepreneur Too?

Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it is recruiting participants for the "Geumcheon Youth CEO Startup Group" until March 22.

The "Geumcheon Youth CEO Startup Group" is a specialized project where young people directly conceive startup ideas, sell products, establish economic awareness, and cultivate entrepreneurial spirit.

The program consists of ▲ inauguration ceremony and orientation ▲ overall startup capability enhancement training ▲ group-specific capability strengthening ▲ planning and operation of startup groups ▲ performance sharing meeting ▲ donation of profits, etc.

Five groups of 3 to 6 members each will participate from March 30 to the end of December, experiencing the entire process of startup education, product selection, production, and sales free of charge.

First, education to strengthen youths' economic capabilities such as asset management, economic awareness, and entrepreneurial spirit aligned with current trends will be conducted. Each startup group will receive advice from experts on the economic feasibility and precautions of their selected products. In the final planning meeting, they will discuss product selection, pricing, and sales strategies, then sell their products at youth festivals and other events.

All profits generated from product sales will be donated to vulnerable youth in the local community. Participating youths will learn about corporate social responsibility through the process of returning profits created with the help of community members back to their neighbors.

Anyone aged 12 to 24 who resides in Geumcheon-gu or attends a school located in Geumcheon-gu can apply, either individually or in groups of 3 to 6 people.

Applications can be submitted online via Google Forms or by scanning the QR code on the recruitment promotional materials.

Last year, 25 youths in five groups participated, focusing on social issues such as health, environment, and MZ culture, showing a high satisfaction rate of 96% in participant surveys. They developed unique startup products such as sea gem necklaces, resource recycling keychains and phone grips, and sugar-free tanghulu, donating approximately 1 million KRW from sales profits.

Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, "I hope this meaningful activity will provide youths with an opportunity to grow together with the community, enhancing their startup capabilities and sense of community," and added, "We will continue to support youths to grow as future talents representing the local community."
