Eunpyeong Officetel 20s Female Murder Case: "Suffocation" Opinion

A woman in her 20s found dead in an officetel in Seoul is believed to have died from asphyxiation, according to an autopsy result.

On the 16th, the Eunpyeong Police Station in Seoul announced that they received a verbal opinion from the National Forensic Service, which conducted the autopsy on the victim, stating that the cause of death was asphyxiation. However, the police said, "It is difficult to conclusively determine the circumstances of the asphyxiation, and further judgment is needed."

The police received a report of the death of a woman in her 20s at around 9:40 p.m. the previous day and found signs of homicide. Consequently, they urgently arrested a prime suspect, a man in his 40s identified as Mr. A, at a comic book cafe in Guro-gu at 10:24 p.m. on the same day. Mr. A is unemployed and is reported to have a prior record of murder.

The police, who are investigating Mr. A’s motive for the crime, stated regarding the application for an arrest warrant, "Since the investigation is currently ongoing, we cannot make a decision yet," adding, "It is expected that a decision will be possible after the investigation is completed."
