Busan Student Character Education Center Operates 'Character Growth Experience Program'

Character Education Focused on Physical Activity ... Cultivating Students' Character Values

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education's Student Character Education Center will operate the "Grade-Level Character Experience Program" at the Busan Student Character Education Center for first-year students of 77 middle schools in Busan from the 18th to November 1st.

This program is designed to help students cultivate character values such as communication, respect, consideration, and cooperation through physical activity-centered character experience activities, and to foster self-esteem.


The "Grade-Level Character Experience Program" runs for 1 night and 2 days, with a total of 84 sessions. Students will participate in various experiential education activities that help strengthen character competencies, including adventure activities, cooperative activities, empathy activities, cultural activities, and ecological activities during their 1 night and 2 days stay at the Student Character Education Center.


Through experiential activities such as sports climbing, tightrope walking, and eco-trekking, students are expected to realize and experience character values like cooperation and respect.


In particular, it is anticipated that students will share healthy friendships with their peers through the newly planned Barefoot 178 class this year.


The Student Education Center continuously enhances its representative programs with high satisfaction unique to the center, such as sports climbing, adventure tower, traditional Korean archery (Gukgung), and eco-trekking, while also steadily developing new programs to offer to students. Additionally, efforts have been made to improve convenience for education consumers by providing free transportation for admission and establishing agreements with cooperative hospitals for student safety.


Han Jong-hwan, director of the Busan Student Character Education Center, said, "I hope that students will greatly enhance their character competencies such as cooperation and respect through this communal living experience," and added, "We will continue to contribute to the solidification of character education through character experience activities that involve working closely together."
