'Nighttime Landscape Renovation' Bucheon Botanical Garden Supia... Night Openings on Fridays and Saturdays Starting April

The large botanical garden 'Sufia' located in Sangdong Lake Park, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi Province, will be open at night starting next month.

The nighttime opening period will be from the 5th of next month until October 26th, and it will be open only on Fridays and Saturdays from 6:30 PM to 10 PM. On other days, it will operate only until 6 PM.

Bucheon City plans to create a variety of nighttime landscapes to make the botanical garden a popular spot with attractions and entertainment at night. Colorful lighting facilities will be installed around the exhibited plants inside the nighttime greenhouse, cave wall fountains, wooden bridges, and other areas to create visual attractions. Specialized spaces such as 'Waves in the Forest' using wave lighting and 'Forest Spirits' using laser lighting have also been prepared.

Outside the botanical garden, dandelion seed-shaped lights will be installed to convey messages of new birth and life. In addition, the exterior, which changes into rainbow colors, will provide beautiful sights and entertainment not only for the botanical garden but also for citizens visiting Sangdong Lake Park.

Nighttime admission to Sufia Botanical Garden can be viewed by making a reservation in advance through the public service reservation on the Bucheon City website. The admission fee is 3,000 KRW for adults, and Bucheon citizens receive a 50% discount.

Sufia was built at the end of 2021 with an investment of 7.2 billion KRW on a site with a total floor area of 2,969㎡ and consists of two floors above ground. It features eight themed spaces including the foliage garden and fragrance garden, as well as an ecological greenhouse, cafe, and resting areas, with 28,000 plants of 430 species planted.

Jo Yong-ik, mayor of Bucheon City, said, "The nighttime opening of the botanical garden will provide visitors with various attractions and offer a special memory to enjoy nature in the city. We will make further efforts to establish Sufia as a unique landmark."
