Pukyong National University, Commemorative Stamps and Umbrellas for the '100th Anniversary of Founding'

Announcement of Results for the '100th Anniversary Limited Edition Goods Idea and Design Contest'

National Pukyong University (President Jang Young-su) is launching the production of commemorative products such as stamps and umbrellas to celebrate its 100th anniversary this year.

On the 14th, National Pukyong University held an awards ceremony for the "100th Anniversary Limited Edition Goods Idea and Design Contest" and decided to commercialize the winning works.

In this contest, three works including the "100th Anniversary Commemorative Stamp Masking Tape," "Whale Umbrella," and "Wavebreaker Umbrella" were selected as excellent award winners.

The commemorative stamp work received high praise for applying a stamp design using characters along with historical photos of National Pukyong University, and proposing a masking tape method that allows each piece to be torn off and attached individually.

The two umbrella works were well received for their designs utilizing the image of "Baekgyeong-i," National Pukyong University's representative character, the school logo, and sea imagery.

Additionally, four works were selected for the encouragement award, including the "Tumbler, Mug Cup, Coaster Series," "Baekgyeong-i Stamp Sticker," "Baekgyeong-i Emoticon," and "Baekgyeong-i Tea Infuser Glass Set."

National Pukyong University plans to produce the contest-winning works as actual products under the supervision of the Consumer Life Cooperative, and utilize them to commemorate the university's 100th anniversary by exhibiting and selling them through on-campus stores.

National Pukyong University was established through the integration of Busan Technical College (founded in 1924) and Busan Fisheries College (founded in 1941), the first comprehensive national university integration in Korea (1996), and is carrying out various projects to celebrate its 100th anniversary based on the year 1924.
