"One Surviving Fearful Creature"
A resident of an apartment in Incheon reported that two pet dogs were thrown to their deaths from the 9th floor, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
The police announced on the 13th that they received a 112 report around 7 a.m. on the 11th about two dogs falling from the 9th floor of an apartment in Galsan-dong, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon. A representative from an animal shelter, presumed to be the informant, explained the situation in a post on social media, stating, "A woman working as a pet groomer threw the dogs out of the veranda window, and the two dogs fell onto parked cars and died instantly."
They also claimed, "The suspect lied to the police officers, saying she was hearing auditory hallucinations." One surviving dog was reportedly wandering alone in the apartment stairwell, terrified.
After receiving the report, the police who arrived at the scene found the bodies of the two dogs. They are currently investigating the detailed circumstances of the incident with Ms. A, a woman in her 40s suspected of throwing the dogs. It is reported that Ms. A is presumed to have a mental illness, and with her family's consent, she was placed under emergency hospitalization.
According to Article 10 of the current Animal Protection Act, anyone who kills or causes the death of an animal shall be subject to imprisonment for up to three years or a fine of up to 30 million won.
