A Korean billionaire with nationality who achieved the 4th highest global return rate in virtual asset futures investment has been confirmed to have surpassed an evaluation profit of 360 billion KRW.
On the 13th, the top ranking for futures investor returns on the overseas virtual asset exchange 'BitMEX' included a user named 'aoa'. Based on total profit, the amount is 3,670 BTC (Bitcoin). As of the morning of the 14th, 1 BTC has surpassed 100 million KRW, so the profit is at least over 360 billion KRW. This amount ranks 4th among global users listed on BitMEX.

The ID 'aoa' is known as a 'reclusive master' in the domestic virtual asset industry. This is because it is the ID of a netizen who was active under the nickname 'Wonyotti' in famous virtual asset-related online communities in the past. The profit generated by Wonyotti over the past three years is enough to purchase about 100 apartments of 131.48㎡ exclusive area in Apgujeong Hyundai Apartments in Seoul (market price based on Korea Real Estate Board is 3.6 to 4 billion KRW each).
Detailed personal information about Wonyotti has not been revealed. However, based on information he disclosed while active in online communities, it is estimated that he started investing in the virtual asset futures market in 2021 with seed money of 6 million KRW, and by taking aggressive long and short positions, he accumulated about 250 billion KRW in his 20s.
Futures, a type of derivative product, are transactions that agree to deliver or receive financial assets at a predetermined price at a future date. In particular, virtual asset futures trading allows leverage ratios of up to 100 times or more, making the risk of loss enormous. Experts have repeatedly warned that investors could lose their entire principal in just a few minutes.
Also, Wonyotti is famous as a big fan of K-pop girl groups. His virtual asset investment account ID 'aoa' is known to be derived from the girl group IVE member Jang Wonyoung and the girl group AOA (Ace of Angels).

Although he made astronomical profits recently thanks to the rapid rise in virtual asset prices, it is estimated that Wonyotti also experienced 'bitter defeats'. There have been speculations that he lost hundreds of billions of KRW in an instant after investing in highly volatile futures at the end of 2021.
Wonyotti also personally posted a certification that he lost money after investing 50 billion KRW earned from virtual assets into the domestic stock market. This is interpreted to mean that even the world’s top-level masters commonly experience losses of hundreds of billions of KRW due to the highly volatile market.
