Bong Joon-ho's New Film 'Mickey 17' to Premiere in Korea on January 28 Next Year

"Unpredictable Developments and Humor to Surprise You"

Director Bong Joon-ho's new film 'Mickey 17 (working title)' will be released on January 28 next year. Warner Bros. Korea announced on the 14th that it will be premiered in Korea for the first time during the Lunar New Year holiday (January 28-30). The worldwide release, including North America and Europe, is scheduled for January 31.

The film is based on Edward Ashton’s novel 'Mickey 7' (2002). It was co-produced by Bong’s production company Offscreen, Kate Street Picture Company, and Plan B. The cast features a star-studded lineup with strong acting skills, including Robert Pattinson, Naomi Ackie, Steven Yeun, Toni Collette, and Mark Ruffalo.


Andrew Cripps, President of Overseas Distribution at Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, said, "Director Bong Joon-ho’s imagination, vision, and creativity always take audiences beyond their expectations," adding, "'Mickey 17' will also surprise everyone with its original story and characters, unpredictable plot and humor, and outstanding production quality." He further noted, "It will be screened in various special formats including IMAX, 4DX, Dolby, and ScreenX."
