Choi Ho-gwon, Yeongdeungpo District Mayor, Attends 'Relay Tree Planting' Event on the 79th Arbor Day

Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, planted trees with families attending the event on the morning of the 13th to celebrate the 79th Arbor Day.


About 440 people, including local residents, neighborhood organizations, and public officials, participated in the event, planting 7,000 trees and shrubs such as Bokjagi trees and Cornus kousa, as well as approximately 2,000 herbaceous plants like Hydrangea, working together to create a lush resting place in the urban area.


Additionally, trees were planted in a relay across four green spaces: ▲ Anyangcheon, ▲ Singil Neighborhood Park, ▲ Singil 9 District Neighborhood Park, and ▲ Daerim-dong Greenbelt, expanding green spaces within the community. A special 'My Tree Ownership' event was held to commemorate residents' special days, gifting them precious memories.


Choi Ho-gwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, stated, "Trees that green the city are the power that allows the Earth to breathe." He added, "I thank everyone who participated in today's tree planting event and hope that the trees we planted together with our wishes will grow vigorously and become healing spaces within the city."
