Chung Euisun, Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, received a total annual salary of 12.2 billion KRW from group companies last year. He earned 8.2 billion KRW from Hyundai Motor, where he serves as CEO, and 4 billion KRW from Hyundai Mobis.
According to the business report disclosed by Hyundai Motor on the 13th, Chairman Chung received a total of 8.2 billion KRW from Hyundai Motor last year, including 4 billion KRW in salary and 4.2 billion KRW in bonuses. This amount increased by about 17% (1.2 billion KRW) compared to 2022.
At Hyundai Mobis, where he concurrently serves as CEO, he received 4 billion KRW last year, consisting of 2.5 billion KRW in salary and 1.5 billion KRW in bonuses. In 2022, Chairman Chung earned 3.625 billion KRW from Mobis. Compared to that, his annual salary rose by about 10% last year. He did not receive a salary from Kia, where he serves as an inside director.
Hyundai Motor stated, "Based on internal standards such as the executive salary table and executive wage determination criteria, salaries and allowances were determined comprehensively reflecting job position and rank, length of service, leadership, expertise, company contribution, and talent development."
Jang Jaehoon, President of Hyundai Motor, received an annual salary of 3.894 billion KRW last year, including salary and bonuses. Next, Kim Yonghwa, an advisor who stepped down from frontline duties last year, received 3.288 billion KRW including retirement pay, making him the third highest-paid employee within the company.
Jose Munoz, Global Chief Operating Officer (COO), received 2.287 billion KRW, and Lee Dongsuk, President, received 1.419 billion KRW. Seo Kanghyun, former Head of Planning and Finance who moved to Hyundai Steel as CEO, received 1.329 billion KRW including 423 million KRW in retirement pay. Park Jungguk, an advisor who stepped down as Head of R&D in April last year, received a total of 1.096 billion KRW including 564 million KRW in retirement pay.
