The KOSPI closed higher, surpassing the 2690 level. It briefly broke through the 2700 mark during the session but could not maintain the upward momentum.

By investor type, foreigners were the sole net buyers with 335.3 billion KRW. Individuals and institutions were net sellers, offloading 253.1 billion KRW and 110.5 billion KRW respectively.
By sector, securities rose 3.66%. The financial sector increased by 2.02%. Machinery and insurance sectors rose more than 1%. Conversely, pharmaceuticals declined by 1.27%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics closed at 73,900 KRW, up 600 KRW (0.82%) from the previous day. KB Financial jumped 6.56%. Hyundai Motor rose over 3%, and Samsung C&T increased more than 2%. Meanwhile, SK Hynix, Samsung Biologics, Celltrion, and NAVER all closed down more than 1%.
On this day, 447 stocks on the KOSPI rose without any hitting the upper limit, while 431 stocks declined. 56 stocks ended unchanged.
The KOSDAQ closed at 889.93, up 0.22 points (0.02%) from the previous trading day.
By investor type, foreigners and institutions were net sellers of 140.3 billion KRW and 69.3 billion KRW respectively. In contrast, individuals were net buyers with 225.1 billion KRW.
By sector, the internet sector rose 3.37%. Digital content increased more than 2%. Additionally, IT S/W&SVC, software, medical & precision instruments, construction, IT components, and telecommunications equipment all rose more than 1%. Conversely, paper & wood, chemicals, publishing & media replication, and semiconductors declined more than 1%.
Among the top market capitalization stocks, EcoPro BM closed at 264,500 KRW, up 2,500 KRW (0.95%) from the previous day. Wemade surged 14.43%, and Alteogen rose more than 3%. Conversely, Enchem and Shinseong Delta Tech fell 4.99% and 4.49% respectively. Additionally, HLB, HPSP, Celltrion Pharm, and Lino Industrial all declined more than 2-3%.
On the KOSDAQ, including five stocks such as Laemon Laein, Gabia, and Fantagio that hit the upper limit, 797 stocks rose. Meanwhile, 754 stocks declined, including Premiums which hit the lower limit, and 101 stocks closed unchanged.
