Director Jang Hojin Visits Exhibition Command Post to Monitor Training Situation
Jang Ho-jin, Director of the National Security Office, stated on the 13th regarding the 2024 Freedom Shield (FS) exercise, "The combined field training expanded to 48 cases during this exercise will upgrade the ROK-US combined operational capability to the next level."
On the same day, Director Jang visited the wartime command post (B-1, document storage) in the morning to listen to the progress of the FS exercise and encouraged the soldiers of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Combat Staff participating in the exercise, according to the Presidential Office.
Director Jang expressed satisfaction with the results of this exercise, which was conducted against complex threats reflecting the recent security situation, including North Korea's nuclear, missile, cyber, electronic warfare threats, and the possibility of gray zone and fake news provocations.

He particularly emphasized, "With the participation of 12 United Nations Command member countries in this year's exercise, solidarity with the United Nations Command and the international community for the security of the Republic of Korea has been further strengthened."
Director Jang urged the Joint Chiefs of Staff Combat Staff soldiers, saying, "Even on the 10th day of the continuous day and night exercise that has lasted 11 days, you are diligently focusing on your mission without disruption," and asked them to "achieve a successful completion of the training and finish strong."
