Hyundai Motor Group demonstrated world-class design competitiveness by winning 31 awards, including a gold award, at the '2024 iF Design Award (International Forum Design Award),' one of the world's top three design awards.
On the 13th, Hyundai Motor Group announced that it received a total of 31 design awards at the 2024 iF Design Award hosted by the German International Forum Design, including one gold award and 30 main awards. This achievement marks the highest number of awards ever received. Established in 1954, the iF Design Award annually evaluates the design distinctiveness and impact of projects that have been or are scheduled to be launched in the market, selecting the best designs in each category.
Hyundai Motor Group won awards in categories including ▲Product ▲Professional Concept ▲Communication ▲Interior Architecture ▲User Interface (UI·User Interface).
First, in the Product category under Automotive, the Kia EV9 won the highest honor, the gold award. Additionally, Hyundai’s Santa Fe and Ioniq 5 N received main awards. The gold award is the highest honor given to only 75 designs selected as the most outstanding among over 10,000 entries worldwide. The iF Design Award committee praised the Kia EV9, stating it "makes other large sport utility vehicles (SUVs) look outdated."
In the Professional Concept category, which focuses on advanced design, the Genesis X Convertible, Santa Fe XRT, and HMGICS safety preservation robot concept were honored with main awards. In the User Interface (UI) category, the infotainment systems of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis each achieved the distinction of receiving main awards.
In the Communication category, Genesis’s integrated service application 'MY GENESIS' and Hyundai’s heritage campaign utilizing the Pony were recognized, while in the Interior Architecture category, the Hyundai Motor Group Driving Experience Center and the FIFA Museum, part of the World Cup campaign, were evaluated as excellent designs.
A Hyundai Motor Group official stated, "This award is the result of the convergence of the design philosophies and future inspirations of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis brands," adding, "We will strive to deliver new experiences and value through differentiated designs ranging from automobiles to branding."
