Operating Since 2020, Vending Machine Count Doubled in February
Lotte GRS announced on the 13th that 'Krispy Kreme Donuts,' operated by the company, will strengthen its vending machine and display sales (DFD) strategy.
Krispy Kreme Donuts is operated in the form of a master franchise (MF) with Lotte GRS holding the domestic business rights. Previously, Lotte GRS has been testing the installation of donut vending machines for customers using the stores and after business hours, starting with the Yeouido branch in 2020, to expand customer accessibility for low investment and high efficiency, along with a large store operation strategy equipped with donut production facilities.
The menu inside the vending machines is operated with a single menu of the representative product, ‘Original Glaze (dozen, half dozen).’ Last year, cumulative sales through vending machine operations exceeded 1 billion KRW, and last month, the number of machines in operation was doubled compared to the previous year. Additionally, the simple sales form of DFD placed in marts and department stores is currently operating in 112 locations as of last month. Sales revenue increased by about 100% compared to the same period last year.
A Lotte GRS official stated, “Krispy Kreme Donuts has been expanding customer accessibility by placing stores in large commercial areas such as road shops and shopping malls, as well as in stations.” He added, “In the future, we plan to continuously place vending machines in military bases, government offices, and other locations to strengthen brand touchpoints through expanded customer accessibility.”
