Gyeonggi-do Strengthens Data Industry Development... Up to 30 Million KRW Support per Company

Gyeonggi Province is recruiting participating companies for the ‘2024 Data Industry Promotion Support’ project, which supports data collection, utilization, and analysis for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups, until the 31st of this month.


This project, launched in 2020, aims to enhance corporate competitiveness by supporting the discovery of data-driven business models and the advancement of services, thereby improving productivity and increasing profits.


This year, a total of six free-topic data utilization projects will be supported. The total support budget is 180 million KRW, with up to 30 million KRW provided per project. Companies can participate either by conducting projects independently or by forming a consortium.

Selected companies can use the support funds for data purchase and collection costs, data processing and analysis costs, consulting fees using external experts, and intellectual property-related expenses to achieve project goals.


Eligible applicants are SMEs or startups with headquarters or research institutes located in Gyeonggi Province. Interested companies should check the announcement on EasyBiz (www.egbiz.or.kr) and apply via email (jglee@gbsa.or.kr) by the 31st of this month.


Submitted project proposals will be finally selected through document and presentation evaluations. Additional evaluation points will be awarded if the company’s data is disclosed on ‘Gyeonggi Data Dream,’ Gyeonggi Province’s public data open portal.


Kim Hyun-dae, Director of the Future Growth Industry Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "With the advancement of artificial intelligence technology, the importance of data utilization is growing even more. Support is needed to discover innovative services from companies with excellent ideas. We expect the development of the data industry in the province to accelerate significantly."
