Implementation of 15 Detailed Projects Including Development of Environmental Fairy Tale Books in the 2024 Comprehensive Environmental Education Plan
Seodaemun-gu (Mayor Lee Seongheon) announced on the 12th that it has established the '2024 Comprehensive Environmental Education Plan' and has begun full-scale implementation to create a sustainable environmental education city.
The district will promote 15 detailed projects in four areas: ▲building the foundation for environmental education ▲customized environmental education ▲strengthening the capabilities of professionals ▲enhancing cooperation systems. These include designating and operating a basic environmental education center, providing lifecycle-based customized environmental education, Seodaemun-style mandatory environmental education, researching, developing, and distributing nationally certified excellent environmental education programs, and producing Seodaemun-style environmental storybooks.
Additionally, this year, aiming for the participation of more than 20,000 residents in lifecycle-based environmental education, the district will conduct visiting environmental education (at daycare centers, kindergartens, elementary schools, etc.), regular environmental education, family ecological exploration, children's environmental musicals, and an Environmental Day commemorative ceremony.
Since December last year, Seodaemun-gu has been conducting research for the establishment of the first Comprehensive Environmental Education Plan, aiming to establish a five-year comprehensive environmental education plan that reflects regional characteristics and lays the foundation for an environmental education city.
Lee Seongheon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, stated, “We will promote various practice-oriented environmental education programs to convey the importance of the environment and sustainable eco-friendly living and to raise environmental sensitivity.”
