Hampyeong-gun's 'Korea Orchid Premium Grand Festival'... Kicks Off on the 16th

'New Leap for Korean Choonran'... at Hampyeong Culture and Sports Center

The nation's top orchid festival, the '2024 Korea Orchid Masterpiece Grand Exhibition,' will be held in Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do, the largest natural habitat of Korean spring orchids.

According to Hampyeong-gun on the 11th, this 19th edition of the grand exhibition will take place over two days, from the 16th to the 17th, at the Hampyeong Culture and Sports Center.

Held annually in March, the event is hosted by Hampyeong-gun and organized by the Hampyeong Orchid Association (President Manho Lee). It promotes the excellence of Korean spring orchids and contributes to popularizing orchid culture.

This year's theme is 'A New Leap for Korean Spring Orchids.' Approximately 450 Korean spring orchid pieces, including floral art and leaf art, will be carefully selected and exhibited.

Entries will be judged, and the grand prize winner will receive the Presidential Award and a prize of 15 million won. About 150 pieces will be selected and awarded, including the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs Award, the Minister of Environment Award, and the Korea Forest Service Director Award.

Anyone can freely submit entries by applying at the Hampyeong Culture and Sports Center on the 15th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lee Sang-ik, Mayor of Hampyeong-gun, said, "I hope this exhibition will promote the excellence of Korean spring orchids, popularize orchid culture, and serve as an opportunity to revitalize the local economy."
