This Year’s Korea Reading Festival in Pohang … Lecture on ‘The History of Everything in the World’

Pohang City and POSTECH Collaboration Program

Finding a Path to Mutual Growth in Local Reading Culture

Pohang City will operate the annual program of the 2024 11th Korea Reading Festival Pohang, titled "The History of Everything in the World," every third Saturday of the month at 2 PM from the 16th of this month to June 15th.

"The History of Everything in the World" is a high-quality humanities program co-planned by Pohang City and the POSTECH Civilization Citizen Education Center. It will be conducted in two sections and held a total of eight times.


In the first section, attendees can meet Professor Kang In-wook of Kyung Hee University’s Department of History in March (Lecture 1 - The Origin of Everything in the World), Professor Kim Jun-hong of POSTECH’s Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in April (Lecture 2 - How Culture Shapes the Human Mind), Professor Kang Hee-jung of Sogang University’s Department of Southeast Asian Studies in May (Lecture 3 - The Flower of Hope Bloomed in the Desert, the Rock-cut Temple), and Professor Lee Jong-sik of POSTECH’s Department of Humanities and Social Sciences in June (Lecture 4 - Were Animals Happy in History?).


The lectures in March and April will be held at the POSTECH Park Tae-joon Academic Information Center, and those in May and June at the Pohang City Po-eun Central Library. Applications can be made through the POSTECH Civilization Citizen Education Center website.
