‘Duruduru Bosalkeum-ui Nal’ Operation
Resolving Dense Welfare Blind Spots
On the 12th, Seongsan-gu, Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, visited two vulnerable households living in Yongji-dong and Sapa-dong on the occasion of 'Duruduru Care Day' to check on their health and well-being and delivered donations and consolation goods.
On Duruduru Care Day, households in crisis who have difficulty maintaining their livelihood after the loss of a spouse and low-income elderly households without family support who face difficulties in daily life are visited to listen to their hardships. Through linking public benefits and private welfare resources, active connections will be made to ensure appropriate support.
Shin Mi-kyung, Director of the Social Welfare Division, said, “Seongsan-gu will continue to strive to eliminate welfare blind spots through building a social safety net and proactive crisis response.” She added, “We hope residents will pay attention to neighbors in need and actively cooperate in identifying welfare crisis households.”
Meanwhile, Seongsan-gu’s special policy, ‘Duruduru Care Day,’ is a project held twice a month to discover households in welfare blind spots, visit them directly to check on their well-being, provide tailored welfare service information, and connect them to support to help overcome crises.
