Running as proportional representative... "To end the prosecution regime early"

Jo Guk, leader of the Jo Guk Innovation Party, who declared his candidacy for proportional representation, announced that his first goal in the 22nd National Assembly is to propose the 'Han Dong-hoon Special Prosecutor Act.'

On the morning of the 12th, Jo Guk held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office and stated, "To bring an early end to the prosecution dictatorship regime and realize judicial justice, I will propose the 'Han Dong-hoon Special Prosecutor Act' as the first action of the 22nd National Assembly." He added, "Despite various criminal suspicions, Han Dong-hoon, the 'Crown Prince of the Prosecution Dictatorship' and leader of the People Power Party Emergency Committee, has not even undergone a proper investigation. This is the people's order for him to be investigated fairly like ordinary people."

Jo said, "There are more than enough reasons for a special prosecutor investigation into Han Dong-hoon," and through the special prosecutor's investigation, he intends to clarify three issues: ▲ the suspicion of political prosecution and instigation of accusations ▲ suspicions related to the disciplinary action against Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol ▲ suspicions of ghostwriting his daughter's thesis. He emphasized, "Just because someone is a former prosecutor president or the leader of the ruling party who is a former prosecutor does not mean they are exempt," and added, "The people need to deliver a stern judgment on the political prosecution obsessed with selective investigations."

In particular, he stressed, "The proposal of the Han Dong-hoon Special Prosecutor Act is only the beginning," and said, "The Jo Guk Innovation Party will be the icebreaker for the early end of the prosecution dictatorship and the vanguard for the victory of the democratic progressive forces."

When asked by reporters immediately after the press conference about the background of his decision to run for proportional representation, he replied, "Running for proportional representation is nothing special; it is the same as political participation." He further explained, "Politics or party founding is not for personal honor restoration, but since the inauguration of the Yoon Seok-yeol government, the values of the democratic republic have been shaken to their roots. Although I have shortcomings and flaws, I decided to step forward with comrades to bring an early end to the Yoon Seok-yeol regime because I believe it is the way to save the Republic of Korea."

Meanwhile, according to the Jo Guk Innovation Party, a total of 101 people applied for the proportional representation candidate recruitment. The youngest is 26 years old, and the oldest is 68 years old. Previously, the Jo Guk Innovation Party announced that along with Jo Guk, Representative Hwang Un-ha, who left the Democratic Party of Korea, also applied as a proportional representation candidate. The Jo Guk Innovation Party Proportional Representation Recommendation Committee will select and announce a total of 20 candidates, 10 men and 10 women, on the 15th after screening. The order of proportional representation will be decided by a vote of the National Participation Electorate, and an internet vote for the ranking selection will be held over two days, the 17th and 18th.
