Dobong-gu Installs and Upgrades Alley Streetlights and Security Lights... 500 Million KRW Invested This Year, About 600 Locations... Targeting Approximately 1,500 Locations by 2027
Dobong-gu (District Mayor Oh Eon-seok) will install and upgrade 1,500 streetlights and security lights on major roads and alleys by 2027 to ensure residents' safe nighttime walking environment.
Earlier, the district conducted a full survey of all road lighting last year. The survey identified approximately 21 locations within the area where road lighting needed improvement in illumination.
Based on the survey results, starting this year, the district plans to sequentially maintain and upgrade road lighting at 21 locations requiring improved illumination, considering the aging condition of the facilities and the urgency of repairs.
First, this year, a budget of 500 million KRW will be invested to install and upgrade about 600 streetlights and security lights.
Additionally, through continuous collaboration with the police station, the district will identify vulnerable safety sections within the area and organize inspection teams to regularly check and supplement road lighting.
Oh Eon-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, “If you find dark alleys or old security lights, please report them anytime to the Dobong-gu Road Department,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen safety infrastructure to create safe and bright night streets.”
