4 Courses, 115 Participants... Registration Open Until the 18th
Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting 115 citizens to participate in the first half of the year urban agriculture education program until the 18th.

The recruitment targets are ▲20 for Urban Farmer School ▲20 for Children Farmer School ▲15 for Urban Agriculture Manager ▲60 for Indoor Horticulture. The education will be held at Yongin Citizen Farm located in Gomae-dong, Giheung-gu.
The Urban Farmer School will be held 12 times over 4 months from April to July. The lectures cover overall agriculture topics including plant growth environment, growth conditions, ecosystem of vegetable gardens, understanding of healing agriculture, companion plants, and local food.
Children in grades 1 to 4 of elementary schools in the district can participate in the Children Farmer School. It is a 12-session course from April to July. Participants can experience vegetable garden activities such as planting seed potatoes and leafy vegetables, eco-friendly agriculture like herb horticulture and making EM soap, ecological agriculture such as releasing earthworms, and making fruit syrup and pickles from agricultural products.
The Indoor Horticulture course teaches terrarium, flower arrangement, topiary, and planting air-purifying plants. It will be held once a week for 4 weeks starting from the 1st of next month. Each class can accommodate 20 participants.
Citizens who wish to participate can apply on the Yongin City integrated reservation website by the 18th. The application period for the Indoor Horticulture course is from the 18th to the 25th.
Separately, the city also conducts training for Urban Agriculture Managers. Becoming an Urban Agriculture Manager allows one to become an expert who provides education, interpretation, and technology dissemination to urban residents through specialized urban agriculture lectures, vegetable garden education, and citizen farm management. The lectures cover types and cultivation methods of vegetable garden crops, horticultural psychological counseling therapy techniques, urban beekeeping, herb cultivation, and policies for win-win cooperation between returning farmers and rural communities.
