The diplomatic authorities of Korea and Germany are resuming plans for President Yoon Suk-yeol's state visit to Germany.
On the 11th, Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul met with Thomas Bagger, German Deputy Foreign Minister, who is visiting Korea, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that they exchanged views on resuming President Yoon's state visit to Germany at an appropriate time.
The government and the presidential office had been planning President Yoon's state visit to Germany starting from the 18th of last month, but four days before departure, the presidential office announced the postponement of the trip.
Accordingly, on the 20th of last month, during a Korea-Germany summit call, President Yoon asked for understanding, stating, "Due to various reasons including focusing on domestic livelihood issues, the visit to Germany was inevitably postponed."
At that time, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier responded, "I sincerely hope that through consultations between both sides, President Yoon's visit to Germany can be rescheduled at an appropriate time."

Minister Cho and Deputy Minister Bagger also agreed on deepening the cooperative relationship between the two countries through continuous high-level exchanges, and decided to continue close cooperation to suspend North Korea's military cooperation with Russia, comply with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions, and return to dialogue.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reported that they exchanged in-depth opinions on the Northeast Asian situation, Indo-Pacific strategy, the Ukraine war, and cooperation between Korea and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Deputy Minister Bagger is scheduled to hold consultations with First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Hong-kyun on the 12th.
