Infant and Toddler Safety Accidents, Medical Expense Coverage for Childcare Staff Injuries
Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do, supports safety mutual aid insurance premiums for all 21 daycare centers in the area to create a safe and trusted childcare environment.
According to the county on the 11th, since 2019, they have been supporting the subscription to daycare safety insurance to establish a compensation system for various safety accidents that may occur to infants and toddlers at daycare centers and to alleviate the anxiety of guardians.
The main coverage includes a total of 11 types, consisting of 5 mandatory subscription products such as infant and toddler life and bodily injury, playground facility liability, gas accident liability, and optional subscription products such as childcare staff injury.
The coverage period is one year, from the 1st of this month to February 28, 2025. It covers 100% of out-of-pocket medical expenses due to accidents occurring during childcare activities, 500 million KRW per person for personal liability, 5 million KRW per accident for property damage liability, and up to 20 million KRW for medical expenses for childcare staff injuries.
A county official said, “This project is also receiving positive responses as it can reduce the management burden of daycare centers struggling with a decrease in the number of children,” adding, “We will strive to create a safe childcare environment where parents can entrust their children with peace of mind through support for safety mutual aid insurance premiums.”
