Completion of Construction at Gijang 'Jeonggwan Sports Healing Park'

Gijang-gun Priority Project Targeted for Completion in May

Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok)'s key project, Jeonggwan Sports Healing Park, is currently undergoing finishing construction ahead of its scheduled completion in May.

On the 11th, Gijang-gun announced that the Jeonggwan Sports Healing Park development project is accelerating its final construction phase to meet the goal of completion in May this year.

This sports park is a comprehensive lifestyle leisure sports facility being developed by Gijang-gun with a project budget of 22.6 billion KRW, covering an area of approximately 33,000㎡ in the Mojon-ri area of Jeonggwan New Town to expand the local residents' sports infrastructure.

The facility will include ▲a soccer field (artificial turf) ▲an athletics track ▲a park golf course (6 holes) ▲stands with 1,980 seats ▲showers and restrooms, among various convenience facilities.

Once completed, the project will serve as a space for local residents' sports activities as well as for hosting various sports competitions and events.

During the project implementation, Gijang-gun actively reflected the opinions of local residents, securing additional park golf courses and large-scale spectator stands to accommodate many residents.

Before completion, a pre-inspection involving experts and local residents will be conducted to ensure there are no issues with facility operation and safety.

Jeong Jong-bok, Governor of Gijang-gun, stated, “Jeonggwan Sports Healing Park will be a hub for local residents' sports activities and a healing space, greatly contributing to improving the quality of life and promoting sports welfare for the residents.” He added, “Please put effort into the final construction phase so that it can become a new landmark of Gijang.”
