Haman-gun to Implement Daily Care Service Project for 2024

Care-Dependent Young and Middle-Aged Adults... Expected to Reduce Daily Burdens and Improve Quality of Life

Haman-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 11th that it will implement the "2024 Daily Care Service Project" starting in April to reduce the daily burdens of young and middle-aged adults in need of care and young family caregivers, and to improve their quality of life.

The "Daily Care Service" is a service that comprehensively provides home care, housekeeping, meal and nutrition management, psychological support, and other services to those who need help with daily living, aiming to resolve difficulties in daily life. It was established to eliminate service blind spots and provide demand-centered customized integrated services.

The service targets young and middle-aged adults (ages 19?64) who need daily care, and young family caregivers (ages 13?39) who care for family members suffering from illnesses or mental disorders or who bear the family’s livelihood responsibilities. A co-payment may be required depending on service usage and income level.

The basic service involves service providers visiting the user’s home to provide home care, housekeeping, and daily support services within a set time. Users can flexibly use the service from 12 hours up to a maximum of 72 hours per month, depending on the service type.

Specialized services include meal and nutrition management services that provide customized meal support and nutrition management for those who have difficulty preparing meals due to illness, and psychological support services that offer tailored psychological assistance by experts. Up to two specialized services can be used depending on the type of basic service utilized.

Applicants or their representatives who wish to use the service can apply in person at their local town or township office with identification and documents proving eligibility for the project. Once selected, beneficiaries will receive a National Happiness Card (voucher card) to use the services.

An official from the county stated, “With the implementation of this project, young and middle-aged adults in need of care and young family caregivers will be able to receive care services regardless of income level, which is expected to eliminate service blind spots and improve the quality of life for these care recipients.”
