Through this agreement, the two companies will jointly carry out ▲ support for HD Hyundai's cloud transition and utilization of Naver's large-scale AI 'HyperCLOVA X' ▲ infrastructure advancement for cloud business ▲ promotion of marine digital application business by HD Hyundai Marine Solutions.

HD Hyundai plans to enhance employees' work efficiency and expertise by applying Naver's large-scale AI ‘HyperCLOVA X’ to its internally held database of over 200 million shipbuilding-related data records to implement and discuss generative AI services. Additionally, they will discuss transitioning the infrastructure currently built and operated independently by HD Hyundai to the Naver Cloud Platform.

The two companies also plan to explore various new business opportunities in the shipbuilding and shipping sectors. Since the second half of last year, they have been conducting projects applying cloud and AI technologies in these fields. As a result, they have built and completed technical verification of 'MetaOceanData Cloud,' a comprehensive marine data platform that collects global ship operation data and provides necessary information to shipowners, based on the Naver Cloud Platform. The official launch is scheduled for the first half of this year.

Using data based on 'MetaOceanData Cloud,' the two companies will also jointly promote the commercialization of HD Hyundai Marine Solutions' next-generation 'Smart Ship Solution (ISS)' and decarbonization solution 'OceanWise.' Through this, they plan to implement ship carbon intensity (CII) management and overall operation and management of ships underway on the cloud, providing one-stop solutions and consulting services.

Naver's AI technology will also be utilized to develop an AI chatbot for customer inquiries and responses related to HD Hyundai Marine Solutions' ship and engine after-service (A/S), offering more detailed consulting services.

Choi Soo-yeon, CEO of Naver, said, "Through this agreement, we hope to create new business models by combining HD Hyundai's knowledge assets, business capabilities, and rich experience in the shipbuilding and marine sectors with Naver's technology and infrastructure, enabling both companies to grow together."

Jung Ki-sun, Vice Chairman of HD Hyundai, stated, "Team Naver's stable cloud infrastructure and proven AI technology will be a catalyst to accelerate HD Hyundai's future vision of Ocean Transformation."
