Animal Pharmaceuticals, Expanding Exports to Southeast Asia... Government Supports Participation in Thailand Expo

Exporting Country Government and Policy Seminar

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs announced on the 11th that it will set up a Korea Pavilion at the '2024 Health and Nutrition Asia' held in Bangkok, Thailand from the 12th to the 14th to promote Korean veterinary pharmaceuticals and pioneer the Southeast Asian market.

An official from the Ministry stated, "The Southeast Asian region, including Thailand and Vietnam, is a major export market for veterinary pharmaceuticals alongside Latin America, and many export companies have been steadily knocking on its door. The Ministry supports group participation in overseas exhibitions every year to provide opportunities for our veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturers and exporters to develop overseas sales channels and expand exports."

This exhibition is a specialized event for animal health products such as veterinary pharmaceuticals, and this year it will be held simultaneously with VICTAM Asia, the world's largest feed exhibition, with about 500 companies participating from around the world.

During the exhibition, the Korea Animal Medicine Association will guide the Asia-Pacific Veterinary Society to the Korea Pavilion to introduce Korean products, and together with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency, they will expand information exchange on animal diseases and veterinary pharmaceuticals in the Southeast Asian region.

In particular, on the 13th, a policy seminar will be held by inviting government officials from major export countries, Thailand and the Philippines. This is to help Korean companies establish personal relationships with these government officials in advance and gather necessary information for future product registration. Export companies will be able to hear directly from officials about the current status of the veterinary pharmaceutical industry in Thailand and the Philippines, as well as the approval systems and procedures, and engage in discussions.

Additionally, during the exhibition period, market research will be conducted to understand trends and related information in the livestock and veterinary pharmaceutical markets in Thailand and Southeast Asia, including visits to the Charoen Pokphand Group, the world's largest feed producer.

An official from the Ministry said, "We hope this event will serve as an opportunity to promote the excellence of Korean veterinary pharmaceuticals in the Southeast Asian region, strengthen information exchange and cooperation, and expand exports. We will continue to support overseas exhibitions and marketing to help veterinary pharmaceutical export companies gain international competitiveness."
