Socar "Last Year's Top Nighttime Cherry Blossom Spot Was Gyeongju Gyelim Forest"

Last year, Socar users were found to have visited Gyeongju Gyerim Forest the most to enjoy the night cherry blossoms.

On the 11th, Socar revealed the regional night cherry blossom spots based on users' parking data. The parking data was extracted based on the locations of vehicles that were parked with the engine off for more than one hour within a 1km radius of nationwide cherry blossom spots between 7 PM and midnight during last year's cherry blossom blooming period (March 20 to April 10).

The places most visited by Socar users to see the night cherry blossoms were ▲Gyeongju Gyerim Forest ▲Ilsan Lake Park ▲Songdo Central Park ▲Yeojaecheon (Jinhae-gu, Changwon City) ▲Hwaseong, Suwon, in that order.

Additionally, one out of five people who visited night cherry blossom spots by Socar also used accommodation facilities, confirming demand for trips of one night or more. Over the past two years, cases where vehicles were parked with the engine off for more than six hours within 100 meters of accommodation facilities from 6 PM to 3 AM during the cherry blossom blooming period were classified as ‘overnight stays’.

Meanwhile, the Socar application offers a service that allows users to book over 25,000 accommodation facilities and vehicles nationwide at once. When traveling for cherry blossoms with accommodation for one night or more, users can enjoy 24-hour car sharing free of charge as well as discounts of up to 40,000 KRW through the Socar Special Stay promotion.
