Visit to Myeonghwiwon Jongno Branch
KB Asset Management announced on the 11th that it visited Myeonghwion Jongno Branch on the 7th to carry out meal service volunteer activities for elderly people in vulnerable groups.
Myeonghwion, a social welfare foundation, operates a free meal service center in Jongno-gu, Seoul, as part of its elderly welfare projects. Since 2012, KB Asset Management has been conducting social contribution activities with Myeonghwion for 13 years, including meal service volunteering by its executives and employees.
During the period when face-to-face volunteer activities were temporarily halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, support continued through donations such as winter clothing packages and Lunar New Year food packages. The meal service volunteer activities, which will resume this month, are planned to be held twice a month until the end of the year with voluntary participation from executives and employees.
In addition, KB Asset Management has been steadily carrying out support projects for the community, including providing school bags for low-income elementary school students, donating braille books for visually impaired children, and supporting elderly people in vulnerable groups.
Starting next month, KB Asset Management will launch the “Win-Win Consumption X Win-Win Sharing Project with KB Asset Management” to help small merchants in traditional markets who are going through difficult times due to the economic downturn. This project involves purchasing win-win consumption items at traditional markets, creating sharing boxes, and delivering them to elderly people in vulnerable groups while monitoring their well-being. Additionally, as part of the project, a campaign to revitalize consumption at traditional markets and among small merchants will be conducted.
Kim Young-sung, CEO of KB Asset Management, said, “We hope that the hands of our executives and employees will be of help to neighbors who are going through lonely and difficult times,” and added, “We will continue to actively carry out social contribution activities to fulfill our social responsibilities and to further spread the value of coexistence.”
