[Click eStock] "Zestem, Benefiting from Yield Innovation in the AI Semiconductor Market"

ResearchAlum expected that Jeostem would benefit as the competition for orders of artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductors requiring ultra-fine processes intensifies on the 11th.

Researcher Lee Seung-hwan of ResearchAlum explained, "The competition for orders of ultra-fine process AI semiconductors among Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and US-based Micron is fierce," adding, "SK Hynix has monopolized the 4th generation high-bandwidth memory (HBM) market since last year."

He continued, "Samsung Electronics and Micron are focusing company-wide research and development efforts to secure leadership in the HBM market," and added, "Samsung Electronics is known to have deployed about 100 elite engineers to accelerate mass production of HBM products."

He emphasized, "To avoid repeating last year's failure in the HBM market, the focus is on meeting the specifications and improving the yield desired by their largest customer, Nvidia," and "Samsung Electronics plans to start mass production of HBM in the first half of this year and also aims to pass Nvidia product certification."

Researcher Lee said, "Nvidia product certification requires not only performance but also achieving a certain standard in terms of heat generation, completeness, and yield," and predicted, "as demand for AI semiconductors increases, yield stabilization equipment will also grow together."

He introduced, "Among Jeostem's main products, the best-known is the N2 Purge equipment," explaining, "Nitrogen is an inert gas, and a space filled with nitrogen maintains an optimal temperature and humidity to prevent defects in wafers." Additionally, he said, "It effectively controls impurities generated during the manufacturing process, contributing to improved semiconductor production yield," and explained, "Following the trend of semiconductor miniaturization, the Purge system has become an essential product."

Researcher Lee stated, "Jeostem's world-first developed 2nd generation humidity control device, the JFS (Justem Flow Straightener) system, controls humidity around semiconductor wafers through airflow control," and added, "It also prevents unnecessary backflow occurring internally in wafer transfer and supply devices." He evaluated, "Jeostem's system is recognized as an essential technology for improving wafer yield for semiconductor manufacturers," and said, "We expect positive stock price trends along with performance improvements starting from the first quarter of this year."
