Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will recruit 440 applicants wishing to participate in the ‘Phase 2 Public Work Project’ from the 18th to the 22nd of this month.
The selected participants will be assigned to 67 workplaces such as citizen farms, waste disposal facilities, and district administrative welfare centers for four months from May 13 to August 21, where they will be responsible for tasks such as environmental maintenance.
Those aged 18 to 64 will work 5 hours a day, 5 days a week, and receive 49,300 KRW per day (based on 5 hours). Those aged 65 and older will work 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, and receive 29,580 KRW per day (based on 3 hours).
Additionally, a daily transportation and snack allowance of 5,000 KRW will be provided as incidental expenses, and mandatory enrollment in the four major social insurances will be required depending on age.
Eligibility requires being a Seongnam citizen aged 18 or older with work ability, whose household income is at or below 60% of the median income standard and whose household assets are 400 million KRW or less.
Applicants must submit their application forms along with identification and other supporting documents to the administrative welfare center of their residential district within the application period.
Seongnam City will select participants considering household income, assets, and number of dependents, and will announce the results on its website and notify individuals on May 2.
This year’s Phase 3 Public Work Project will run from September 9 to December 22, with recruitment for participants scheduled for July.
