SK Group Transfers 76 Patents Free of Charge to 53 Companies

SK Group selected 76 patents and transferred them free of charge to 53 domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies.


On the 11th, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held the 2024 Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy-SK Group Technology Sharing Event at Samjung Hotel in Seoul, attended by Oh Seung-cheol, Director of the Industrial Infrastructure Office, Yoon Jang-seok, Vice President of SK Supex Council, Lee Sung-yong, Vice President of SK Innovation, Ha Yong-soo, Vice President of SK Hynix, Chae Jong-geun, Vice President of SK Telecom, Choi Il-soo, Vice President of SK Siltron, Min Byung-joo, President of the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, and representatives of 38 beneficiary companies of technology sharing.


Since participating in technology sharing in 2014, SK Group has transferred 315 patents free of charge to 197 companies. I-Lang Tech developed a base station wireless communication signal processing device using the transferred technology, achieving sales of 12.1 billion KRW targeting domestic and overseas mobile carriers and newly employing 74 people.


At the event, SK Group signed a business agreement with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology, committing to continue participating in technology sharing to build an ecosystem for co-growth between large and small-to-medium enterprises. Oh Seung-cheol, Director of the Industrial Infrastructure Office, stated, "This year, technology sharing involving POSCO Group, Samsung Electronics, and energy public enterprises is also planned."


Small and medium-sized enterprises and mid-sized companies wishing to participate in the technology sharing, which will be held four times this year, can apply according to announcements to be posted later by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy or the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology.
